Greetings MIUIers & Mi fans,
Certain things about the Pixel phones are exclusive, but Android’s open lifestyle allows those features to be ported over to other devices. The latest example of that is Portrait Mode. When the Pixel 2 launched several months ago, Google proudly introduced the mode to compete against Apple and Samsung’s offerings. Well the feature is already accessible on every Android device running Oreo (8.0+).
The Pixel 2’s Portrait Mode is perhaps its best new feature due to how the algorithm can produce beautiful photos that focus on one or more persons. While Pixel 2 camera features such as Motion Photos, Face Retouching, and even the new AR Stickers have been ported, it was thought that Portrait Mode would remain a Pixel 2 exclusive for quite some time.
Now the wait for MIUI 9 users has been overand they can use this amazing portrait mode feature in their devices. But unfortunately some devices running on miui 9 with Android M can't run this feature. These devices include Redmi note 3 and Redmi 3s/prime.

  • Requirements
  • Unlocked bootloader
  • TWRP installed
  • Rooted device (Prefer magisk)
  • Camera API2 enabler
  • Ported Gcam mod (BGS Mod)

  • Slow Motion
  • Panrorama
  • Photo Sphere
  • Portrait (Front & Rear)
  • 4K Uhd(30fps Support)
  • Front Display Flash

  • Bugs
  • After enabling API2 official camera is not working
  • When ram isn't cleared it starts lagging (only in 2gb varient)

Enabling Camera API2
To enable Camera API2 you need ROOT Permission
1. If you are using SuperSu then you have to Edit the 'build.prop' file. Open any editor and Search for "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=0" and change it from 0 to 1.
If you can't find such line then add: persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
2. If you are using Magisk then just flash the Camera API2 enabler module via recovery.

Gcam mod Installation
1. Download and install the latest Gcam mod (link given in the end of thread)
2. Open app and grant all the required permissions.
3. Now open the Gcam mod and enjoy using Portrait mode
