Hi MIUIers!
Today I want to share a simple method to restore IMEI and MEID without using QCN file and another complicated method. This one is easier and has been tested in my Redmi 4 Prime as well as Mi 5.
Here we go!
⚠ WARNING:
This is only for any Qualcomm Snapdragon device,
not for MTK/Mediatek device.
Prerequisite:
- 1. PC or Laptop
- 2. Portable ADB
- 3. Your Mi or Redmi device, only Qualcomm device
- 4. TWRP and root access
After you complete the prerequisite, kindly check that your PC or laptop has installed proper driver. Otherwise, try to install Mi Flash Tool for easier way. Extract Portable ADB somewhere in your PC. I do recommend you to put it on C: to avoid unnecessary problems.
Now open extracted portable ADB and run CMD from there. If Shift + Right Click combination doesn't work, just type CMD in the address bar in the Explorer, hit Enter then you're good to go.
Connect your phone to PC and reboot in Fastboot mode, then go to CMD window and type:- fastboot erase modemst1
- fastboot erase modemst2
- fastboot reboot
Copy the Code Then reboot the phone to Recovery, then go back to CMD window and type:- adb shell
- su
- dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/modemst1
- dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/modemst2
- reboot
Copy the Code After that, the IMEI and MEID should be restored. But please note that this is not the way to change your IMEI.
That's all folks!
